Crown Jesus Ministries visited today and using a puppet show they told us about their exciting new after school club Klass Kids which will be starting on Friday 17th January in our school hall. The puppet show was great fun and Mr Speers even got a chance to wear the thinking hat! Letters about this club have been sent home today.
Dan also came in to visit and told us about his new after school club - Dodgeball. Some pupils got to demonstrate and four teachers also got a turn! The details have been sent home in the letter yesterday and Dan will be in school on Friday to collect forms and payment from any pupils who would like to join this club.
Today our Journey to Santa winners were announced by our School Council. 2 pupils out of every class received a chocolate prize from Santa's Sustrans workshop and there a huge number of entries this year so congratulations to all those who made lots of Active Journeys over the past 3 weeks - especially with all the rain!
We did a live prize draw for the top prize of a brand new scooter and that went to Miah Sherrard from Mrs Craig's class! Very well done to Miah and we hope she enjoys getting out on her scooter over the Christmas holidays.
Bocombra Cross Country Team were invited to participate in a new event today at Portadown College, organised by the College pupils. They all ran brilliantly and enjoyed themselves thoroughly, even when they were covered in mud! They all ran some very impressive times and special mention goes to Daniel Hobson who was the 5th boy in the Fun Run and Maisy and Ella who were the 2nd and 3rd girls in the Fun Run. Very impressive indeed! Our boys and girls main teams also did exceptionally well and managed to achieve 3rd place overall amongst the 8 schools who competed.
Today we had our first ever joint School Council with Ballyoran Primary School. We had a very enjoyable time, sharing ideas and chatting about future events. We had a guided tour of Ballyoran and saw some things that we would like to have in Bocombra!
the next meeting will be in term 2 and Bocombra will host it.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
