Final Shared Lesson with Ballyoran Primary School

Making Butter

We made butter using fresh cream. Mrs Maxwell poured some whipping cream into jam jars, added a tiny bit of salt and tightened the lids. We took it in turns in our groups to shake the jam jar. When we noticed a change happening we stopped. The cream had turned from cream to butter. We used our butter for our pancakes that we made during our last Shared lesson with Ballyoran.

Day 4 Shared Lesson with Ballyoran PS

Zoo Lab Visit

Today Sarah brought her "pets" into school and she gave us lots of information about them. We got to hold Shirley the giant snail, a cockroach, a snake and a giant rat! We also got to see her tarantula.

Streamvale Farm Trip

Today we visited Streamvale Farm. Our guide was called Alison and she showed us around the farm and told us all about it. We got to feed a lamb and a kid with a bottle. We saw lots of different animals. Alison told us all about how we get our milk and what happens to it before we buy it in containers. After we ate our lunch, we had some time in the play park. We had a great day out

Day 3 Shared Education with Ballyoran PS

Today we met up with Ballyoran in our school. We continued with our lessons about BREAD. Today we looked at different bread wrappers and found out where our bread is produced. We learned that Sunblest, Ormo and Irwins are all manufactured in Northern Ireland.

Celebrating Science Week

We had a visit from "Izzy Ice cube" and her friends. She wanted us to investigate where the best place was for her to stay solid. We found different places in school to place our ice cubes.

We found that the coldest place was the Play Area outside Mrs Brown's and Mrs Nesbitt's.

The warmest place was the sun trap outside Mrs Nesbitt's room

World Book Day

We dressed up as book characters to celebrate World Book Day. Don't we look amazing?

Read-a-thon

Today Year 5 Mrs Craig visited our class to read to us. We all enjoyed listening to their Invention Stories. We hope we can write such exciting stories when we get to Year 5!

Inference Bag Fun

We have been having great fun with our inference bags. Each of us had to choose an item to put into our "Inference bag" and then think up 3 clues to help us guess what is inside them. We have had some very challenging items! Can you guess what was inside Alfie's bag?

Road Safety Visitors

Ellison and Sharon came into ouor class to tell us about being safe on the road. We learned this rhyme

Soda Bread

Today we stepped back in time to when "Grandad was a lad". We discovered what Mum might have made on the range and made our very own soda bread, not on a range, but on a griddle. We enjoyed it hot with butter and jam.

Mixing Colours

We mixed colours using red, yellow, green, blue and white. Watch this space to see how our finished pictures turn out!

Happy 40th Bocombra!

We had great fun today helping to celebrate Bocombra's 40th Birthday. We enjoyed a disco, bouncy castle, bouncy slide, cage basketball and decorated our own buns!
