Our Class

Pyjama party

We used the pennies we brought in to fill in the outline of Africa. We raised lots of money fro Andrew and Lilian.

This is money week in school and we were playing money games on the computer and the whiteboard. We also played shop and sorting games with our money pots. It was great fun.

Portadown Tennis Club came in this morning and some of us got to play tennis.

We had a picnic in the sunshine on Friday. Thank you very much Maria for sharing your birthday cake, it was delicious.

The P3s made clay pirate ships with Mrs Brown. They are fantastic.

We used Doodle Buddy on the iPads to draw a pirate picture with our partner.

Year 3 Shared Education Day with Ballyoran PS

We had a visit today from Zoo Labs. We got to see different animals. Some of us were very brave and even held some like the giant snail and the snake!!

We visited Streamvale Farm on Wednesday 4th May. We were able to see all the farm animals. We petted lots of the animals and we fed a lamb and a kid. Everyone also had a chance to milk a cow but not a real one! After seeing baby chicks, finding badger setts and visiting the duck pond we had lunch before playing in the park. It was a great day and we all really enjoyed it.

We had fun learning about the world at Ballyoran Primary School.

Day 3 Shared Lesson with Ballyoran PS

Today we met up with Ballyoran in our school. We continued with our lessons about BREAD. Today we looked at different bread wrappers and found out where our bread is produced. We learned that Sunblest, Ormo and Irwins are all manufactured in Northern Ireland.

We worked in groups to discuss what it would be like to be a pirate for a day.

Ahoy Mateys!!

Our topic this term is 'Pirates'. We made pirate ships from junk. We made our own pirate hats. We drew pirate ships on the interactive whiteboard. We made treasure maps on scrolls. We set up banquets for the crew. We wrote messages in bottles. We have been very busy!!

It's Science week!

We have had a great time doing some scientific investigation! We watched experiments on www.sciencebob.com. We made some 'oobleck' and we designed an animal that could change colour and blend in with the environment.

We went to visit Mrs Dunlop's class to hear the stories they had written. We really enjoyed it!!

We dressed up as our favourite book characters for World Book Day.

We put 'mystery items' into our bags. We discussed the clues as a class and tried to guess what might be in the bag. We had lots of fun!

During circle time we have been talking about what we are good at and what makes us special. We worked in groups to create a person to show our thoughts.

Our new topic is 'Animals'. We have been having lots of fun pretending to be vets, building homes for the animals, creating our own zoos and lots more!
