• VE Day 75th Anniversary Celebrations

  Since we are unable to celebrate VE Day together, we are running a competition for you to do at home. All you have to do is design your own medal. Use whatever materials you have at home – it could be cardboard and tinfoil, plasticine, play doh, clay, paper, toilet roll tubes….just get creative and see what you come up with!

  There will be 3 categories –

  • Nursery/P1 and P2
  • P3 and P4
  • P5/P6/P7

  The most creative medal in each category will win a £10 gift voucher for Amazon

  When you have completed your creative medal, send a picture of it to Mrs Taylor

  All entries will be judged on TUESDAY 12^th MAY and winners will be notified that day.

• Eco Schools Home Challenge: Week 2 results!

  I was delighted to see so many entries for our Eco Schools Home Challenge this week so thank you to every single one of you who took the time to send in your pictures - it was very exciting to read about what you're getting up to. I loved seeing how so many of you are continuing on our brilliant Eco Schools work in your own back gardens and neighbourhoods.

  From the Green house we had Charlie, Hannah, Sam, Tom, Jack, Zara, Jasmine, Juliana and Jan completing a wide range of activities including hanging the washing outside, putting out the bin, planting seeds, watching birds, making their initials, painting rocks and doing plenty of creative outdoor learning.

  In the Yellow house we had Ben, Ryan and Hanna who were busy helping with putting the bin out and planting some beautiful plants in their garden.

  Then from the Red house, Rebekah and John have been busy watching lots of birds in their garden, as well as going on a minibeast hunt and enjoying lots of outdoor time.

  Finally, from the Blue house we have Ruby, Sophie and Katie being very proud of their fabulous creations of making their names from leaves and twigs - great work girls!

   

  Week 2 house points:

  Green = 90

  Yellow = 30

  Red = 20

  Blue = 30

  A huge well done to everyone and keep up the fabulous Eco work! I am looking forward to seeing what Week 3 brings!

• Banana Bread

  This is Mary Berry's recipe and it's nice and moist

   

  You need:

  100g soft butter

  175g caster sugar

  2 eggs

  225g SR Flour

  1 teasp baking powder

  2 tablesp milk

  2 bananas, mashed 

   

  All you need to do is weigh out the ingredients into a bowl and mix together until the mixture is well blended. An electric mixer is best but you can do it with a wooden spoon.

  Spoon the mixture into a prepared 2 pound loaf tin and bake at 180 degrees for about an hour.

  leave to cool in the tin for a few minutes and then loosen with a small palette knife and turn the cake out.

  slice and spread with butter. Enjoy :)
