Congratulations to our girls’ football team who played in a tournament on Thursday afternoon. The team played really well together, lots of good goals were scored & the defence were tight at the back. The girls managed to qualify for the ‘cup’ and, in the end, came second overall - what an achievement!
The girls have qualified for the Northern Ireland Finals which will be played next Friday. Our boys will also field a team for the finals so it will be a great day out for Bocombra.
Thank you to Mrs Gallacher & Mrs Stewart for coaching the girls so well.
Year 5 pupils were delighted to welcome parents, grandparents and their Year 5 peers from Ballyoran P.S. to our Pathways Project Music Concert. Mr Bothwell and Mr McLean from EA Music Service, Bann House have been tutoring our 45 pupils throughout the year. Each pupil played their instrument showcasing the skills they have learnt in order to perform pieces on a clarinet, saxophone, trumpet or trombone. Everyone was very impressed with how well our Bocombra band sounded especially when they played as challenging a piece as 'Mamma Mia'. Well done to all of the Year 5 pupils and a big thank you to Mr Bothwell and Mr McLean for all of their hard work too!
All pupils will need to bring packed lunch on Monday and Tuesday. Meals may be ordered for Wednesday and Thursday. Friday's 'Chippy' menu will be served on Thursday. Thank you
Today we got to see some very special trophies that had been recently won by Portadown FC. Dave and Joe came in to show off their League and Mid Ulster Cup trophies and tell us about their achievements this season. Then our P6 and P7 footballers got to bring their trophies up to the front to show off to Dave and Joe as well. We are also delighted that Joe will be coming into school to deliver some coaching sessions to our pupils.
Well done to all our pupils who made active journeys this week at the beginning of our Move in May competition. There will be 2 winning classes who will each get an ice-cream party if they have the highest percentage of active journeys. Keep an eye out on the House display board for the results each day.
A huge congratulations to our football boys today for winning the prestigious ‘Mullen Cup’. We managed to win each game in the group stage and, after three more nail-biting matches, we came top of the ‘finals’ group. Some fantastic goals were scored and each boy played superbly well.
Bocombra have never before won this cup so boys you have certainly done us proud.
We have now qualified for the NI finals and will represent our area at the tournament.
Well done boys, what an achievement.
