• Indie and Willow unveiled as our new sponsor for our cross country running vests

  A huge thank you to Ceira Eakin from Indie and Willow for sponsoring our new Cross Country vests. We finally have enough vests for the whole team, which is a great help when organising and pinning bibs on race day. We got to put them to the test during our final run today and our runners definitely looked the part. 

  

• Final cross country run at Palace Stables

  Today was the final race of the cross country season and it was held at Palace Stables in Armagh. Well done to all the runners for competing so well in a very tough and muddy race. Special mention to Anna who came second in the girls main team race and earned herself a well deserved podium place! 
  Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who have come out to every race to support our runners no matter what the weather!

  IMPORTANT NOTICE- EXCEPTIONAL SCHOOL CLOSURE: I am writing to inform you that, due to anticipated severe weather conditions, all schools in Northern Ireland are required to close tomorrow, Friday 24 January 2025. The Met Office has issued a red alert, which covers all of Northern Ireland, and will apply from 7am on Friday until 2pm. This warns of "very dangerous conditions" and "widespread disruption". While I appreciate that this decision will impact on each of our Bocombra families, the more important issue is that we take action to avoid any potential risk to the safety of our children and school staff. Teachers will provide suitable work for completion at home tomorrow which will be paper based in the event of electricity or internet outages. Apologies for the inconvenience this will cause. Please be safe everyone

  Well done to our team of P7 pupils who took part enthusiastically in the Road Safety Quiz at Craigavon Civic Centre.  There were some very tricky questions but the team worked together well and enjoyed the experience.

  NURSERY AND YEAR 1 ADMISSIONS 2025/26

  If you have an eligibly aged child (or know of friends or family), who may be considering applying for a place in our Nursery or Year 1 classes in September 2025, please note the following key dates:

   

  • The on-line application process for Nursery and Year 1 opened at 12 noon on Friday 10^th January 2025 and closes at 12 noon (GMT) on Friday 24^th January 2025. See link below.

   

  • Any applications received after 12 noon (GMT) on 24^th January 2025 will be treated as ‘late applications’.

   

  • Please note that existing Bocombra PS Nursery pupils are also required to make a new application for a place in Year 1 in 2025/26.

   

  • Potential applicants for Nursery should be aware that our pre-school setting has been recommended to be part of the Pre-School Standardisation Programme from September 2025. This means that, subject to Ministerial approval, our setting’s pre-school education provision will change from 26 part-time places to 26 full-time places for September 2025.
