On Monday the girls played in the Northern Ireland Qualifiers. They had a fantastic tournament winning of all their section matches. In the semi - final they beat Kingspark in very thrilling run ins. In a nail biting final against Armstrong the match finished 0-0. After another set of run ins we unfortunately lost, coming 2nd overall in our area. The girls all played terrific hockey and have earned a well deserved place in the Northern Ireland Finals Tournament at Playball Stormont on Tuesday 14th. A huge congratulations girls.
Congratulations to our Senior Football Team who competed in the Mid-Ulster Schools 5-a-side Competition in the Football Warehouse on Friday 6th February. Today we had a very special assembly paying tribute to our wonderful teacher, vice principal and friend – Mrs Taylor. The children shared their memories and both past and present members of staff spoke of their time working with Mrs Taylor.
It was lovely that Mrs Taylor’s family were present to share in the celebrations.
We can’t thank Mrs Taylor enough for all that she has done for everyone involved in Bocombra PS – in the past and present. Mrs Taylor will be very sadly missed but we wish her all the best for a long and happy retirement.
Our choir members have been busy over the past few weeks singing at the Shared Education Christmas Carol Service at Ballyoran P.S. and at our school's 50th Celebration Carol Service. This week we were delighted to entertain The Rotary Club at the Seagoe Hotel and the residents at Lisnisky Residential Home. Thank you very much to the Rotary Club and Lisnisky Residential Home for the lovely treats given to the children and staff. Well done to all of our Year 5 - 7 pupils who sang so beautifully at each occasion.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
