The rugby team travelled to Belfast yesterday to participate in the Kingspan Festival. To say the boys (and the coach) were excited would be an understatement! On arriving, you could feel the excitement building and the team could not wait to run out onto the pitch. We began the festival with a tough game against Friends, winning 8 - 6. Our next opponent was Gaelscoil, another hard fought victory (5 - 2). The final match was against Templepatrick, which we narrowly lost 4 -3.
The boys played with great passion and determination. They came off the pitch proud of their efforts and most of all with the unforgettable experience of playing at the Kingspan Stadium (home of Ulster Rugby).
Highlight of the day for the team was meeting some of the Ulster team including crowd favourite Tommy Bowe.
The EA will once again provide a helpdesk on Saturday 19 May 2018 between the hours of 3.30pm and 5pm which parents can contact in the event that they do not receive a placement letter from the post primary school which has selected their child for admission. The EA will write to parents of pupils who have not yet been allocated a school place.
The helpdesk number is 028 2566 1379.
Today saw the very first planting for our Bocombra Community Garden. We had a very exciting delivery from Sunnyside Garden Centre this morning of a whole range of plants from primroses and violas to potatoes and herbs. Thanks to funding from the Live Here Love Here project, we have been able to put in 3 large raised beds and buy lots of plants to put in them.
Jolene from Young People's Project at Bocombra Children's Centre brought a student to do some planting in one of our new raised beds along the gravel pitch.
Pamela Hanna, our Community Engagement Officer from Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council came to visit us at lunch time to help some pupils with their planting. We also had help from Mrs Cooper (from our PTA) and a parent Wendy Chambers (from HSBC).
We are excited to see how the raised beds develop over the next few days as all the other classes get out to plant. Keep an eye out for some new plants appearing!
