• Day 3 at Shannaghmore

  After another good sleep we have spent the morning on the low ropes and high ropes course. We also had some goes on the zip wire and completing team building games. It has been another great trip with everyone sad to leave but looking forward to getting home to tell our families about all of our adventures. 😀

  

• Day 2 at Shannaghmore

  After a very good sleep last night everyone is up and rooms have been inspected 🙄 Breakfast then bouldering and hopefully the sun will appear shortly. ☀️

   

  Bouldering at Bloody Bridge was great fun and everyone got into the very cold water. 💦

   

  Abseiling and rock climbing were the activities we did this afternoon. Everyone tried at least one of these and some people were naturals!! 👌🏻🧗🏻‍♀️🧗🏻‍♂️

   

  After tea we completed the night line and we’re all settled in our pjs with our sweets ready to watch a movie. 🎬

  

• Shannaghmore-Day 1

  The first group arrived to sunshine ☀️. After getting unpacked and exploring the centre we all had a delicious lunch. This afternoon we canoed 🚣🏻‍♀️ in Castlewellan lake. It was great fun, we explored the island and jumped into the water. With tea over we are looking forward to a trip to the beach this evening. 🏖

   

  Racing down the sand dunes and rolling In the sand was how we spent a great evening at the beach. 

  

• P7 Boreatton Trip Day 3

  Quad biking and giant swing were the activities we enjoyed this morning. Great fun was had by all. 

  This afternoon we planned and built a raft in our groups before setting it out on a lake. It was a very warm afternoon and we were happy to fall off into the cool water. 😱

  On our final evening we are going to sing some of our favourite Boreatton songs around a campfire and finish off the rest of our sweets! 🍫 🍬 

  After two more activities tomorrow morning we will make the journey home. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening. ☺️

  

• P7 Boreatton Trip Day 2

  We have had an action-packed day today enjoying a range of activities including abseiling, challenge course, rifle shooting and zip wire. Tonight we are working in groups to complete a treasure hunt called ‘Passport to the World’. Everyone is really enjoying trying new things but all this running around is tiring 💤, we’re bound to sleep well again tonight! ☺️

  

• P7 Boreatton Trip Day 1

  We arrived safely at Boreatton Park at 2pm and enjoyed the sunshine before meeting our groupie. There was great excitement for all of us as we got into our dorms and had a tour of the park. 

  Tonight we played games with our groupie. These included ‘Capture the Flag’ - lots of running to make us even more tired! Everyone will sleep well tonight after a busy day! 😁

  

• School Dinner Menu - Friday 1st June

  Please note that due to a computer problem the June School Dinner menu will not be available until next week.  However the menu for Friday 1st June is Pizza and Chips.

   

• Sponsored Walk for Meningitis Research

  This evening saw nearly 400 parents and pupils all join for a sponsored walk to raise money for a very worthy cause - Meningitis Research. The lovely weather kept us all warm as we walked and it was great to see such a great turn out. Everyone was rewarded for their efforts with a burger, hotdog or fresh fruit at the end of their walk. A huge success and a big thanks to all those who took part.

  

• Year 5 Pathways Music Concert

  All of Year 5 played their wind instruments to entertain their parents and grandparents. They played their clarinets, saxophones, trombones and trumpets to a very high standard. Well done everyone for your great musical skills and thank you to Mr Bothwell, Mr McLean and Mr Guy for your tuition during the year.

  

• Swimming gala winners

  The swimming team won the Large Schools Swimming Gala for the second year running, beating five other schools. The Bocombra swimmers won a medal in almost every individual race as well as coming first or second in each relay race. It was a super result for the team who all swam so well. Congratulations to everyone who raced.
