Today School Council held their first tuckshop of the year and it was a huge success.
They managed to make nearly £200 profit and they have some stock left over to sell at their next tuckshop which will be Christmas themed, and will be held in early December.
Special thanks to our PTA members who came to help out today.
On Friday 17th October the football team took part in a football blitz at Drumgor PS. The team played really well in their group, beating one team 5-0. They finished top of their group before playing the other 3 best teams in the final stage - all very close matches.
There was great football played, some fantastic goals scored and we only conceded a couple of goals, thanks to our super keeper.
Well done to the team - bring on the next tournament!
To celebrate Maths Week this week we worked together with partner classes across the school to complete a variety of practical and exciting maths activities. The children relished the opportunity to work together and learn from each other using Numeracy.
We also had a Maths Week Homework competition on the run up to Maths Week with the entries demonstrating excellent creativity and understanding when it came to spending money within a certain budget. Well done to our winners of this competition - the teachers had a very hard decision to make to choose their winners!
On Friday we celebrated the end of Maths Week by inviting parent visitor into school to talk to P4-P7 about their jobs and how they use maths within them. Both visitors and children alike enjoyed the experience with the children gaining a valuable insight into maths beyond the classroom. Huge thank you to our visitors for coming in and helping to make our Maths Week a roaring success.

Tommy one of our senior boys, pictured here with his impressive array of medals and recently presented plaque from his U.S. Kids Golf triumph. Tommy rose to the top beating eighteen fellow competitors. When asked what's next for this rising star, his sights are set on the Irish and Italian Junior Opens and he is looking forward to competing in the European Championship which he has also qualified for. An amazing achievement for one of our own, sky's the limit for this young golfer. All at Bocombra are very proud of you and your achievements. Well done Tommy.
Thank you to Grainne from The AmmA Centre who trained our Digital Leaders in some digital art skills. Our leaders will be able to help other pupils (& teachers!) to develop their skills.
The leaders explored using Adobe Express on the computers and ‘Patchwork’ and ‘Bazaart’ apps on the iPads.
We had a great day and learned a lot - have a look at some of our work.
Primary 6 & 7 girls had the opportunity to take part in a dance session with ABC council dance coach Christie. They had great fun and worked hard to learn a few new dances. All of the girls really enjoyed taking part. This dance session was a suggestion made by our Get Girls Active leaders so a big thanks to them for their idea.
