Thank you to everyone who is continuing to take part in our Litter Less Challenge at home – well done for keeping up the great work!
Fantastic effort from new entrants Bree and Aria for the Yellow House – they worked hard at making some brilliant birdfeeders to put out in their garden – you earned the Yellows 20 points. Well done girls! For the Green House Ava and Zara were very busy making a very creative birdfeeder out of a milk carton that looked like a house – well done girls and 20 points for the Greens! Juala also earned another 10 points for the Greens by making a birdfeeder out of a plastic bottle - I'm sure the birds are very thankful for all this yummy food! Jonno made a fantastically creative diorama (if you don’t know what that is, because I didn’t either, check out the pictures below!) with some rubbish and earned the Red House 10 points. Sarah was also putting her artistic and creative talents to good use for the Blue House by making a ‘Don’t be mean, Keep the world clean’ poster – beautifully illustrated and such a catchy slogan! Another 10 points for the Blues!
Current totals are:
Green House = 90 points
Blue House = 40 points
Red House = 90 points
Yellow House = 80 points
So the Green and Red House are still in joint first place with 90 points but the Yellow House is not very far behind with 80 points. You can still enter as many times as you would like in the next 3 weeks! Have fun and stay safe!
A huge thank you and well done to everyone who sent in photographs of their Litter Less activities over this past week. Great Eco work happening around Bocombra!
For the Green House Ava, Zara and Ailsa were busy looking out for and collecting litter around where they live – they found a lot of it!
The Blue House finally got off the ground with Ruby, Sophie and Katie making a fabulous bird feeder and have already spotted some birds at it!
Current totals are:
Green House = 70 points
Blue House = 30 points
Red House = 70 points
Yellow House = 60 points
So the Green and Red House are in joint first place with 70 points. It’s not too late to get involved and you can enter as many times as you would like – think of all the house points you could earn for your house!
A huge thank you to everyone who sent in photographs of their Litter Less activities over this past week. It is so exciting to see you getting involved at home and earning lots of house points in the process!
For the Green House Ava and Zara were very busy making some fabulous birdfeeders and Jasmine and Juliana took part in a litter hunt around their estate and then made a brilliant ‘Roll the Rubbish’ poster.
Juala managed to earn the Red House a bonus 50 points because she was the very first entry emailed to Mrs Craig with her pencil case cleverly made out of junk materials – well done Juala! Charlotte and Emily also earned house points for their beautiful anti-litter posters – such excellent art work!
For the Yellow House, Hanna was involved in the fantastic ‘Roll the Rubbish’ poster and litter hunt around her estate and Noah and Katie were very busy making some creative and fact-filled posters to encourage people not to drop so much litter. Amy also made an excellent eye-catching poster with some 3D effects and then went on a litter hunt with George and Isobel – they were all very shocked by the amount of litter that they found on the paths near where they live. Well done Yellow House for so many of you getting involved.
Green House = 40 points

Next Monday and Tuesday we are encouraging you to have a break from school work. Your teacher may have put work in your pack, but you can choose to do something different instead!
Some ideas...go for a run, set up an obstacle course, bake a cake, build a den, make some pancakes on Shrove Tuesday....we would love to see what you're up to!
So...please send us a photo for your class page. Your teacher will upload these and you will be able to see your what your friends are up to as well!
Also...keep watching this space for a special video message....
Our last Eco Schools Lockdown Challenge was such a huge success, so we are hoping to get some of you involved in a new campaign over the next few weeks. If you would like some ideas as to how you can help Bocombra PS with their Litter Less campaign while you are at home, we would love you to check out the Letters section of our website - there is also a picture of the document with this article.
It would be a great boost to our Eco Schools work if you could send Mrs Craig some photos of some of the activities and would really help us when we come to apply for the renewal of our Green Flag in May - I'm sure you can see how tattered our old flag has become!
We look forward to seeing what you Eco Schools ideas you come up with!
