• Year 5 Pathways Project Music Concert

  Year 5 were delighted to welcome parents, grandparents and our Year 5 friends and staff from Ballyoran P.S. to our wind concert. All Year 5 children have had the opportunity this year to be taught by Mr McLean and Mr Bothwell, EA Music Service tutors. Mr McLean and Mr Bothwell have expertly led our pupils to help each of them achieve a great standard of musical skill when playing either their trumpet, trombone, saxophone or clarinet. Very well done to all the children who sang, played and narrated our concert and thank you to all of our guests for coming to listen to their wonderful music.

  

• School Council ice cream treat

  Today our School Council were treated to an ice cream or slushie as a reward for all their hard work in achieving the school’s fifth Green Flag. During our assessment visit before Easter, the Eco Schools assessor commended the pupils for their manners, knowledge and hard work. Well done to everyone!

  

• MORNING SUPERVISION/BREAKFAST CLUB – EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

  As mentioned above, we are keen to ascertain the level of interest there would be amongst our school community for a Breakfast/Morning Drop Off Club. The provision of such a service will be predicated on the following:

  • Sufficient interest and uptake to ensure financial viability.
  • Initial implementation would be on a trial basis to also ensure viability.
  • Adequate levels of staffing to provide a safe and efficient service.

• School Council Easter Tuckshop

  This week our School Council ran their final tuckshop of the year, with an Easter theme. They were delighted to make over £400 profit and have already bought some resources for the P2 outdoor area. They plan to buy some skipping ropes for playing at break and lunch time, and some resources for P1 classes.

  

• Bocombra future golf stars get to see the famous Claret Jug.

  Special thanks to Portadown Golf Club who organised an amazing opportunity for a group of Bocombra's golfers to get up close to the famous 'Claret Jug', ahead of the British Golf Open at Royal Portrush. The children also participated in some fun golf activities as well.

  

• Congratulations to Caleb!

  Congratulations to Caleb in Year 7 who competed in the NI Archery School's Cup at the weekend, representing Bocombra PS, finishing 2nd out of a huge field of 100 participants. Well done to Caleb on a brilliant effort!

  

• Spring Football Festival

  Well done to our two teams who played very well in today’s tournament.  The boys got to play lots of football and some very good goals were scored.  The A team came top of their group and went on to have draws and wins in the next stage.  

  

• Choir at Portadown Music Festival

  Well done to the choir who competed in the Hymn Singing class at Craigavon Civic Centre and placed third. The children performed 'Father I Place into Your Hands' and 'As the deer pants' and each choir member sang beautifully. Everyone enjoyed listening to the other choirs performing too.

  

• Rugby festival at PRFC

  Wed 02 Apr 2025

  This morning a squad played in a rugby festival at Portadown RFC. We played Moyallon PS, Seagoe PS, Lisnadill PS and Hardy Memorial PS. Everyone played well and we finished with a win in our last game. Well done to all of the players.
