On a cold and icy morning, the cross country team set out for Palace Stable, Armagh. They were hoping to build on the success already achieved in previous races. On arrival it was clear that this was not going to be an easy race. The track was more mud than grass which they knew would make things very tricky.
The girls were up first, they all ran as hard as they could with Allana even losing her shoe to the mud! They all finished and were happy with their performance on an incredible tough course.
Next up, the boys. All warmed up and ready to go the boys were confident, especially after previous races. Away they went, the course made even more difficult after the four previous races. All the boys braved the conditions and like the girls ran their hardest! The boys finished with a first place (Oscar Eakin), second place (Josh Osborne) and fifth place (Danny Guy)!
Well done to all the runners who ran their hearts out for the school! Photos will follow soon!!
Well done to our competition winner Evie Thompson!
Over 600 entries from 31 schools across the ABC Borough were submitted to the competition, which was organised by the local branch of Road Safe NI with support from the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Police and Community Safety Partnership and sponsored by Rushmere Shopping Centre.
Judges voted for the best 12 entries to be included in the calendar which covered key road safety themes; the importance of ‘Stop, Look and Listen’ and being visible when walking, wearing a seatbelt when in the car and encouraging drivers never to use a mobile phone.
We are delighted to have our school represented in this calendar and as a special thank you all Year 5 pupils will receive a copy of the calendar.
