Covid Mitigation Update- Unfortunately due to the exponential increase in positive cases and further to advice from EA received this morning, we will be introducing a number of mitigations with immediate effect. All after-school activities (including Healthy Kidz), swimming and school assemblies will be paused for a period of two weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would ask families to have their children collected from school at the normal times. In an attempt to slow the spread of infection inside school we will be avoiding certain close proximity activities and reviewing our classroom layouts where practicable. Again we would encourage all parents to make good use of LFD testing prior to sending childen to school. Any child impacted by a positive test result should isolate for the requisite number of days. If children are unwell, we do not have any expectation that they continue with school work, if however they have mild symptoms, children can access activities on their class web page, continue with spelling, reading and mental maths activities. As we now have so many children isolating and in an attempt to having fewer people needing to visit school to collect work (unless by prior arrangement), we would suggest accessing the digital content in the first instance. As the isolation period is short we do not anticipate significant disruption to children's learning. We are hoping this spike in infection will be short lived and normal service will resume after this two week period. Thank you all once again for your cooperation and understanding.

Covid Update: Thursday 20th January - Unfortunately due to a rise in Covid infections we have experienced a sharp increase in staff absence. This has been compounded with great difficulty sourcing temporary cover and now need to regrettably consider moving some classes to Remote Teaching. This contingency has been reached after risk assessment and consultation with our Chair of Governors. Any classes required to move to Remote Teaching will be notified directly via our school App in as timely a fashion as possible. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. Covid Update Wednesday 19th January - Unfortunately due to a continued rise in postive Covid infections in our Nursery Unit, we have had to make the difficult decision to keep our Nursery Unit closed until at least Monday 24th January. This decision was reached in consultation with our Chair of Governors and after conducting a risk assessment. Remote Learning activities have been provided by following the attached link. Please accept our most sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by this extended closure. MD Vallelly (Principal)https://www.bocombraps.co.uk/home-learning-3/
Nursery COVID Update- Due to the continued rise in the number of positive Covid cases in our Nursery Unit, and having conducted a risk assessment, we have identified difficulty in providing safe and adequate staff cover for Wednesday 19th January. It is for this reason that unfortunately Nursery will remain closed today. The school will continue to liaise with the PHA and issue further information as we receive it. Many thanks for your continued cooperation.
Covid Update - Due to a sharp rise in the number of positve Covid cases in our Nursery Unit this week, the PHA have identified all Nursery pupils and staff as 'close contacts'. Any child displaying symptoms or testing positive on a lateral flow test should isolate immediately and remain at home until testing negative on Day 6 and Day 7 on a lateral flow test. Siblings of Nursery pupils can continue to come to school if symptom free and in best practice testing negative on a lateral flow test. Despite the rise in infections, our key priority is to keep school open and functioning normally. However, in the event of staff absence and as a last resort, it may be necessary for a class(es) to remain at home until teaching cover can be sourced. The PHA have confirmed that regular lateral flow testing helps prevent unnecessary spread of infection, please do not send children to school if they are unwell or are displaying the established symptoms. Thank you for your continued cooperation, together we will endeavour to keep school safe for everyone and running as normally as possible over the next days and weeks.
PHA Notification for Nursery Parents/Guardians- Further to a significant cluster of positive Covid cases in our Nursery Unit today, we have been advised by the PHA that all pupils and staff in the Nursery are to be identified as 'close contacts'. The attached letter from the PHA explains the requirements for periods of isolation and suggested testing. The PHA acknowledged that the swift action of parents on Sunday evening, identified a significant number of positive cases via Lateral Flow Testing and prevented further infection in school today. Those pupils testing positve on an Lateral Flow Test can if they wish, book a PCR test, but PHA advice is that they can presume that the Lateral Flow result is accurate and should now isolate until two negative lateral flow results are obtained on Day 6 and 7, 24 hours apart, confirming that they are now no longer infectious. The PHA have further confirmed that those parents not wishing to conduct a lateral flow test or organise a PCR test for their child will need to isolate for 10 days from 17th January onwards. For purposes of operating the Nursery tomorrow (Tuesday 18th January), pupils will need to have had a negative Lateral Flow test conducted either tonight or early tomorrow morning and remain symptom free. All pupils with a positve lateral flow test or those displaying symptoms should now isolate for the required period. Continued operation of the Nursery Unit will be conditional on securing the necessary staff on a day-to-day basis. Parents will be kept regularly informed of further developments and advice. Siblings of Nursery children are also advised to have negative regular Lateral Flow tests and remain symptom free to keep coming to school in Year 1-7. If you have any questions regarding this matter, school phone lines will open at 8.00am on Tuesday morning.
