School Council are raising money for a brand new outside seating area near the adventure playground with wheelchair access by running a tuckshop on Friday 8th April in the Assembly Hall. There will be lots of different treats and also some healthy options for you to choose from.
Nursery, P1 and P2 pupils need to bring in £1 and they will get to choose 3 items. P3 to P7 are allowed to bring in £2 or £3 to spend at the tuckshop and prices will range from 20p to 50p. Healthy options will be breadsticks, Frubes, Peperami and fruit. Treat options will be small chocolate bars, mini donuts and Haribo.
A price list has been sent out as a notification and it has also been saved in the Letters section of the website. We have already raised £500 with our Cash for Clobber but we need over £2000 for the outdoor area so we are going to be having more fundraising events in Term 3.
Thank you for your support and we are looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday!
Congratulations to P1 Mrs Freeburn, P3/4 Mrs Reilly, P6/7 Mr Speers and P7 Mrs Dunne for winning our Walk and Wheel competition. We had some very impressive percentages of pupils walking, cycling and scooting to school so thank you to parents and helpers for encouraging as much active travel as possible over the last 2 weeks. It was a very close competition for some classes so we had to have joint winners for P5 - P7 classes as there was only 0.5% between them!
The winning classes will have a movie afternoon with hot chocolate and treats some day this week. Well done everyone!
On Friday our Boys' Hockey Team travelled to Stormont to take part in the NI Primary Schools Finals. The team played seven matches in the group stages. They won 2 games, lost 2 games and drew 3 games which placed them in the quarter finals of the cup play offs. They played Donaghey PS in the quarter finals and despite excellent play by the boys they were narrowly defeated by 1 goal. Well done to the boys who gave it their all and represented Bocombra so well. Thanks to all of the parents who supported the boys at the tournament.

Positive Covid-19 Case(s) Notification- Year 3M, 5D, 5C, 2A/N and 6/7H Parent/Guardian: Please be advised that a positive Covid-19 case(s) has been reported in your child’s class. In best practice we would advise parents/guardians to give their children a one-off LFD test before returning to school. If this test is positive, then the child should stay at home as a confirmed case and isolate for the requisite number of days. The new rule of 5 days applies from 21/1/22 and children should be demonstrating a negative LFD test on both the 5th and 6th morning before returning to school. If you have any queries or concerns do not hesitate to contact our school office. Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.

I would like extend our sincere appreciation to all our Bocombra pupils and parents who so generously supported our Ukraine fundraiser on Friday 11th March. Our PJ and Movie Day was a great success and £2733.00 was raised for this worthy cause. This collection will be forwarded to the Disasters Emergency Committee to be distributed immediately to needy people caught up in the conflict in Ukraine. Thank you once again for your incredible support.
