Yesterday two of our pupils attended the Sentinus Challenge in South Lakes Leisure Centre. There were schools from all over Northern Ireland taking part. Their challenge was to design and build a suspension bridge using the items given. Our pupils designed and built a very impressive bridge, well done to them both. After the challenge they got to watch a show about Space exploration which included experiments with fire and upside down water!
We arrived safe and sound in Castlewellan this morning. After the managers welcome and break we enjoyed a Castle tour and got settled into our dorms. We then took part in team building games and gps exploring tasks. This evening after dinner we played football, tag and rounders. After some toast for supper everyone is now tucked up in bed.
Today was the beginning of P7's Fun Week. The P7s enjoyed every second of it from playing football, maze running and playing in the park in Tannaghmore Gardens to enjoying a well earned meal in McDonald's and an ice cream for the walk home. What a great way to start the week with plenty of fun and smiling faces.
Much more to follow in the coming days!
Congratulations to our girls’ football team who played in a tournament on Thursday afternoon. The team played really well together, lots of good goals were scored & the defence were tight at the back. The girls managed to qualify for the ‘cup’ and, in the end, came second overall - what an achievement!
The girls have qualified for the Northern Ireland Finals which will be played next Friday. Our boys will also field a team for the finals so it will be a great day out for Bocombra.
Thank you to Mrs Gallacher & Mrs Stewart for coaching the girls so well.
Year 5 pupils were delighted to welcome parents, grandparents and their Year 5 peers from Ballyoran P.S. to our Pathways Project Music Concert. Mr Bothwell and Mr McLean from EA Music Service, Bann House have been tutoring our 45 pupils throughout the year. Each pupil played their instrument showcasing the skills they have learnt in order to perform pieces on a clarinet, saxophone, trumpet or trombone. Everyone was very impressed with how well our Bocombra band sounded especially when they played as challenging a piece as 'Mamma Mia'. Well done to all of the Year 5 pupils and a big thank you to Mr Bothwell and Mr McLean for all of their hard work too!
All pupils will need to bring packed lunch on Monday and Tuesday. Meals may be ordered for Wednesday and Thursday. Friday's 'Chippy' menu will be served on Thursday. Thank you
