Local Author Lynda Haffey shares 'The Kindness Bird'
We were delighted to welcome local author Lynda Haffey to school on Wednesday 23rd September to help us focus on Reading for Pleasure. Year 1 - 4 had the unique experience of having a real life author reading to them, with pupils and staff thoroughly enjoying listening to and learning from the characters in 'The Kindness Bird' story. Lynda also kindly shared her own writing tips with our Year 7 pupils in a writing workshop. Lynda, supported by Year 7 teachers and assistants, helped pupils to brainstorm potential new book characters in descriptive mind maps before writing rhyming couplets.
