On Monday 11th March the Bocombra Boys' Hockey team took part in the annual NI Pearson/McCloy Cup (Northern Ireland Qualifiers). We started the tournament with a 1-0 win against Maralin. Next we played King's Park, we had another strong performance and a 2-0 win. In the next two games the team scored a combined total of 10 goals without conceding. This meant we topped the group without conceding a single goal.
We progressed to the Semi-Finals where we played Hardy. It was a tight game which finished in a draw (1-1). The dreaded run ins followed and the team managed to score all three with Alfie (our keeper) saving two of the opposing runs. We made it to the final!
King's Park Primary awaited us in the final. Another extremely tight game which ended in a nervy 0-0 draw. In the end it was decided to share 1st place and both teams are through to the Northern Ireland Finals on 16th April at Stormont Belfast (Playball arena).
