Dave came into our assembly today to tell us all about our new Active Travel Challenge which begins on Monday 11th March and runs for 2 weeks. It is a UK wide competition called Big Walk and Wheel. There are lots of prizes available for the schools with the most active journeys but there are also individual prizes for people who cycle or scoot during the 2 weeks. Mrs Craig will be putting a prize tag on bikes and scooters on a few random days throughout the 2 weeks. If you see a tag on your bike and scooter, bring it to Mrs Craig and you can choose a prize from the special Sustrans prize box.

At the end of of the weekend Ben was awarded the 'Best Player' prize for demonstrating the best attitude, footballing talent and being eager to excel and improve. On Friday P5/6C and P2N/A were busy planting 133 trees to make a new hedgerow near our adventure playground. P5/6C had won a competition with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful, which is sponsored by Moy Park. It was a very exciting morning to learn a new skill of planting trees and the pupils loved working together to start our hedgerow, which is made up of hawthorn, holly, oak and crab apple trees. We are looking forward to seeing it grow and develop over the next few years.
Congratulations to our Year 7 team who clinched a fantastic 3rd place win at the Road Safety Quiz held in Craigavon Civic Centre on Thursday 25th January.
