We were delighted to invite parents and grandparents into school to be entertained by our fifty musicians. From Year 4 pupils who have commenced their music tuition pathway to Key Stage 2 pupils in Year 5, 6 and 7 who are making great progress playing their brass, woodwind, upper strings and lower strings instruments. We were very pleased to introduce guitar tuition as become part of our core tuition this year. Very well done to everyone who performed so well showcasing how talented they are and the music skills they will be able to develop even further next year. Everyone who performed did their 'school house' proud and earned valuable points. Thank you very much to Mr McLean, Mr Bothwell, Ms Cunningham, Mr Hughes and Mr Braiden for tutoring the pupils and encouraging them to develop their music skills.
Today P7 were awarded their Certificates of Competence to recognise that they have officially completed their Cycling Proficiency Training. Well done to everyone who passed both the practical and theory parts of the training. This year marks 50 years of Cycling Proficiency so the pupils were also given a special badge. Congratulations to all those who achieved this award!
We had a huge number of entries for our Jubilee Bake-off competition and they were all very impressive. Well done to everyone who entered, it made the judging very difficult for Mrs Willis, a Home Economics teacher from Portadown College. The winners were selected for showing skill, innovation and presentation. All of the cakes and cupcakes will be on sale this evening at our PTA Fun night.
We arrived safely and quickly got settled into our dorms. After exploring we had lunch and then began our activities. We had team building games, a GPS treasure hunt, a tree trail and a tour of the castle.
Pizza and chips followed by a doughnut for tea helped boost the energy levels for a walk around the lake. After a visit to the tuck shop we watched part of a movie before heading to bed. 😴
