Our football team competed competitively in today’s tournament. The boys played fantastic football and scored lots of great goals. They won 4 matches and drew 0-0 in 2 other games. Unfortunately they were put out in the semi-finals, on points difference. We look forward to the next tournament. Well done boys šš
Today we finished our 2 week challenge of trying to cycle, scoot and walk to school as much as possible. It wasn't easy with the weather over the past 2 weeks but we are delighted that we hit our target of getting over 50% - in fact our average was 58%. As part of our Big Walk and Wheel challenge, Dave came in this week to take some groups of P6 and P7 pupils for cycling skills and games, which they enjoyed immensely.
Our rugby team took part in the Gilpin Fun festival today. They played six matches, winning four of them. Everyone played really well and had great fun in the sunshine. A big thank you to everyone who came along to support us and especially to Mr Dunn and Mr Hannath who coached the team in preparation for the games today.
Today we welcomed Laura from Sustrans to school to present us with a very special award. In recognition of our continued excellence in active and sustainable travel, we have been awarded the title of Gold Ambassador School for Sustrans. We are delighted that all our hard work has been recognised and we would like to thank all the pupils for their dedication to active travel and to parents and guardians for their ongoing support in our efforts to maintain a high level of active and sustainable travel in Bocombra.
Despite the rain and wind, we were delighted to see so many pupils making the effort to cycle, scoot and walk to school as we began our Big Walk and Wheel active travel competition. We are currently second in the large primary schools in the ABC council area with an average of 56.01% which is a fantastic start! We are hoping that we will be able to improve our percentage even further during the second week of the competition.
A huge congratulations to our P6 football team who competed in today’s tournament at Brownlow Collage.
The team won every match they played and, in the final, they managed to win 8-1! They were overall winners and had a great day out despite very wet conditions. Thank you to the coaches, Mrs Oliver & Mrs Cahoon for their encouragement and tactics. Well done everyone!
