Today saw the return of one of the best events in the school calendar - Bocombra’s Got Talent. We had a wide range of fantastic acts from comedians, gymnastics, magicians, singers, actors, musicians, dancers, hulahoopers, Rubix cube solver, puppeteers and we even had bagpipes for the first time!
We can indeed confirm that Bocombra does have talent!
Check out the photos to see our wonderfully talented pupils.
Congratulations to our forty five talented musicians who performed for the school on Tuesday afternoon and then their parents and grandparents on Wednesday morning. The guitar pupils are tutored by Mr Braiden, upper strings by Ms Cunningham, lower strings by Mr Hughes, brass by Mr McLean and woodwind by Mr Bothwell. Everyone performed their group, duet or solo pieces brilliantly and Mr Vallelly commended our pupils on their practising during the year to be able to play to such a high standard. Well done to all of the music tuition pupils from Year 4 to Year 7!
Last week some members of our School Council went to Craigavon Civic Centre to receive their Green Flag which they had been awarded after their recent Eco Schools assessment visit.
However, one of the School Council received a very special award - Zara Cousins was awarded Eco Pupil of the year for the whole of Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon area. Zara was very surprised and delighted to receive this award for all her hard work in Eco Schools activities, not just this year but during lockdown. She even got to meet the new Lord Mayor Mrs Tinsley and got her photograph taken with her.
Congratulations to all School Council for their hard work and effort in achieving our third Green Flag!
Today our P7 School Council members presented a cheque for £688 which the whole school raised on our non-uniform day at the end of May. Mrs Craig also ran the Belfast marathon on Sunday 28th April for Reach and raised £675 so we were able to give a grand total of £1363 from Bocombra for a very worthy charity. Thank you to those volunteers who help out each week with Reach and for their P6 and P7 workshops today, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all pupils.
