Bocombra PS and Nursery Unit will be affected by the planned teacher strike action on Wednesday 29th November. Teachers have been instructed by their respective Unions to take this action on the morning of Wednesday 29th November up until 12.00 noon. Due to a lack of adequate supervision, the school will be unable to open safely and as a consequence the school will be closed for all pupils until 12.00 noon. At midday children will be collected by staff in the playground and at the usual entrances. The rest of the day will then run normally, including school dinner and packed lunch time. The pupils will be marked as an authorised absence for the morning session and a similar attendance mark will be given to those pupils who cannot make arrangements to attend the afternoon session. As our school kitchen require dinner numbers in advance of the strike, school meals booked for Wednesday and not consumed will not be refunded. This unprecedented action has not been taken lightly and is in line with other Public Sector action. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you in advance for your support.

Special mention to the boys team who came second out of all the schools and to Alistair Leitch for winning the fun run. Thank you to Mrs Hannath for accompanying the runners to the race and helping to manage the teams.

Everyone at Bocombra PS are delighted to hear about one of our Year 7 boys Ben who was successfully selected after a recent English Premier League soccer trial. As the youngest of the panel from Northern Ireland, it makes his achievement even greater. Ben will now travel to join Manchester City to continue his Premier League dream. We wish Ben all the best for the next stage in the selection process.
